When did we go?

FEBRUARY - We went during a U.S. holiday weekend (President's Day). Weather was perfect for skiing. Lots of snow, and very chilly. It was busy and there were a lot of people, but the gondola and lift lines were quick and efficient. TIP - If there is a restaurant you really want to eat at, make a reservation in advance.

Budget $$$$$

Skiing is an expensive sport, and Whistler is an expensive destination. Expect to spend top dollar. Ski and snowboard rental gear is average priced, and you can view my guide below for how to score the best deals on winter ski and snowboard gear. In addition, getting from Vancouver airport to Whistler Village is a 2.5 hour journey. You have the option of taking the shuttle bus for $75 CAD ($59 USD) per person each way, or you can take a taxi van for $340 CAD ($267 USD) each way. Depending on the # of people in your party, the taxi van may be cheaper overall. You can also rent a vehicle if you are comfortable on icy roads.
